We respectfully acknowledge that Byron Writers Festival takes place on the traditional lands of the Arakwal Bumberbin Peoples of the Bundjalung Nation. We pay respects to Elders past and present, and acknowledge them as the original storytellers of the lands and waterways of this Country.
A NIDA graduate, Zoë Tuckwell worked in television and film across every major Australian network, and internationally with CBS Paramount. She co-authored That Sugar Guide (Pan Macmillan), published alongside That Sugar Film, one of Australia’s highest-grossing documentaries.
Alongside this, Zoë has been a lifelong volunteer in social and environmental causes, and that community work eventually became her vocation. She now works at Energy Leadership Australia, where her focus is rural, regional and remote community engagement, building bipartisan support for stronger climate policy and clean energy. She lives on Bundjalung Country in the Northern Rivers with her family.
