Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that Byron Writers Festival takes place on the traditional lands of the Arakwal Bumberbin Peoples of the Bundjalung Nation. We pay respects to Elders past and present, and acknowledge them as the original storytellers of the lands and waterways of this Country.

David Heilpern

Professor David Heilpern is the Dean of Law at Southern Cross University, and a regular columnist in the local and national press. He has authored five books, was a Magistrate for 22 years, and is a popular media commentator on legal issues including environmental, criminal and sovereign citizen law. David is a Board Member of the Byron Writers Festival.
