Kylie Caldwell

Kylie Caldwell is a Bundjalung, Yaegl, Kamilaroi and Italian woman born and raised on Bundjalung Country in northern New South Wales. She is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, curator, producer and cultural practitioner working across weaving, sculpture, installation, painting, fashion and community-led cultural projects.

For more than a decade, Kylie has contributed to the revival and sharing of Bundjalung weaving practices, working alongside Elders, knowledge holders and community to strengthen cultural continuity and intergenerational learning. Her practice explores connections between Country, family, cultural memory and contemporary Indigenous identity, often bringing together traditional techniques with innovative materials and forms.

Alongside her artistic practice, Kylie has produced and curated numerous cultural programs, exhibitions and publications. She was the producer of Bulaan Buruugaa Ngali, a publication that documents and celebrates Bundjalung weaving knowledge, cultural practice, and community connections. Her recent work includes large-scale woven installations, public art projects and collaborative cultural initiatives that create opportunities for community engagement, cultural exchange and the continuation of Indigenous knowledge systems.

Kylie is currently participating in Country to Couture with the Women of Rivers Collective, presenting work that reflects the intersection of cultural practice, contemporary fashion and storytelling. Through her work, Kylie continues to honour cultural knowledge, celebrate living traditions and foster meaningful connections between people, place and story.
