We respectfully acknowledge that Byron Writers Festival takes place on the traditional lands of the Arakwal Bumberbin Peoples of the Bundjalung Nation. We pay respects to Elders past and present, and acknowledge them as the original storytellers of the lands and waterways of this Country.
Kris Kneen is the award-winning author of fiction, poetry and non-fiction. They have been shortlisted for many awards including the prestigious Stella Prize. Their poetry collection Eating My Grandmother won the Thomas Shapcott Prize. Their last memoir Fat Girl Dancing was shortlisted for the QLA work of state significance, the SA literary award for non-fiction and the VPLA for non-fiction. Their latest book Rite of Spring is published by Transit Lounge.
