Evelyn Araluen is a Goorie and Koori poet, educator and editor. She works across Overland Literary Journal, the Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development and The Institute of Postcolonial Studies. She is the author of DROPBEAR (2021) and THE ROT (2025), published by the University of Queensland Press. She has been awarded the Stella Prize, the Victorian Prize for Literature, the Judith Wright Poetry Prize, the Victorian Premier's Literary Award for Indigenous Writing, and others. Born and raised in Dharug Country and the broader Western Sydney Blak Community, she now lives and works on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Boon Wurrung lands.
