Poets Out Loud Youth Slam

Poets Out Loud Youth Slam is a thrilling live competition presented at Byron Writers Festival. Witness the next generation of poets as they speak up through slam!

Preselected teams and individuals aged 12-18 represent their schools in this thrilling spoken-word competition. Hosted by Sarah Temporal and featuring the 2024 Australian Poetry Slam NSW champion Rachael Williams.

  • Can I perform in the Youth Slam? All our performers are pre-selected and receive mentoring with Poets Out Loud. To be part of it, register your interest by 30 June here.
  • Do I need a festival pass to attend the Slam? No. Purchase your $5 tickets separately.
